Summer is getting hotter than ever on StarSat, with 3 of our channels relaunching in high definition and a host of new channels joining the family. This holiday season will be more entertaining for the whole family. Let’s take a look at the improvements that will be happening in the coming months…
New Channels on the Super Package:
ST Kids (channel 300, Super Package) has been specially designed for children (3-12 years old) and is dedicated to high-quality cartoons and educational programs. Boonie Bears is one of its features.
EbonyLife TV (channel 191, Super Package) is committed to satisfying the demands of Africa’s youth. 80% of the content on Ebony Life TV is exclusive to the channel. It offers a slew of Nollywood’s best films, original series and brand new shows.
DW (channel 274, Super Package) is a Germany based 24-hour news broadcaster covering German and International news stories. Some of the other things they focus on include BREXIT, Business, Science, Environment, Culture and Sports stories. They also like offbeat stories and getting insight from the people themselves.
Discovery Family (channel 222, Super Package) is a channel dedicated to family-friendly entertainment. From Reality TV like Undercover Boss to animated series like Transformers: Rescue Bots. To top it off they show world-class films and series as well. Expect this channel to come online on the 1st of September.
New Channel:
EWTN (channel 367) is the world’s largest Catholic TV network and it’s coming to StarSat. All the shows that it broadcasts are in line with Catholic families’ core values, giving viewers of all ages religious programs that inspire and entertain. From documentaries such as Historic Vatican to daily newscasts and exclusive news reports, EWTN supplies you with all the Catholic-related content you desire.
Channels Now in HD:
National Geographic Channel (channel 220, Super Package), the place to find the best in documentaries (and some reality and pseudo-science shows) is now in HD. Catch its newest amazing shows like Drain the Ocean, where you can see accurate 3D model renderings of amazing things lost to the ocean.
Novela E Plus (channel 128, Super Package) is where you’ll find the latest and most acclaimed telenovelas. In Love with Ramón is such a series, where Ramón, even more handsome in HD, finds himself in the midst of two lovers and drama spanning from a large inheritance that surprises a family.
ST Movies Plus (channel 100, Super Package) is StarSat’s premier destination for movie lovers. Now you can watch classics like Big Hero 6 and The Finest Hours in fabulous HD.

Miss Mama Africa is a beauty contest hosted in China featuring successful African woman all over China duking it out for the crown. This StarSat exclusive show empowers these teachers and university students to become future leaders of the continent.
The ICC (International Champions Cup) will showcase 18 of the best European soccer teams such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Liverpool face each other across three continents to be crowned the 2018 International Champions Cup winner. These StarSat exclusive matches will be shown on World Football (channel 245, Sports+ Package) and on Sports Premium (channel 246, Sports+ Package).
The FIFA U-20 Woman’s World Cup is being held in France between the 5th and 24th of August 2018. Current champions North Korea will have to defend their title against, amongst others, two African teams who are some of the favourites to win the tournament. Nigeria hasn’t missed a single World Cup and has competed in the two last finals in 2010 and in 2014. Let’s see if the Princesses of Ghana can finally clinch the victory. The semi-finals begin on the 16th of August and can be viewed on World Football (channel 245, Sports+ Package).
