Bin Laden’s Hard Drive

Few men have ever existed that inspire as much hate as Osama Bin Laden. As the former leader of the terrorist group Al-Qaeda, he was the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks that, in a single day, killed 2,996 people and injured over 10,000, many seriously. Even those with who escaped the falling debris didn’t escape unscathed, for thousands of first responders inhaled toxic fumes that lead to many dying of cancer.

The events of that fateful day sparked the war against terror, leading to wars in which even more people suffered. Eventually, after many years of fighting, Osama Bin Laden was found and killed by US military forces. The now crippled Al-Qaeda still operates in secret hoping to cause more suffering in their holy war.

What goes through the mind of monsters? What kinds of people cause that much wanton suffering? Perhaps the contents of Bin Laden’s hard drive can give us some answers? In this show, we’ll be taking a look at the now declassified contents of Bin Laden’s hard drive that were found in his safe-house.

With the help of CIA profilers, criminal psychologist, religious scholars, military experts and men who knew Bin Laden personally, CNN National Security Analyst Peter Bergen will delve into the drive’s contents to help us understand the man who killed so many innocents and caused the suffering of countless more.
