Barenboim Sonatas: Part III
Daniel Barenboim is one of the most respected pianists in history. A child prodigy, he went from piano lessons at age 5 to give his first formal concert at age 7. He made his international debut at age 10 in Vienna and the rest is history.
He’s gone on to win 7 Grammy awards and has done so much for music that he has received some of the highest of honours in Britain, France and Germany: He is an honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire, received France’s Légion d’honneur both as a Commander and Grand Officier, and the German Federal Cross of Merit.
There is no better man to honour Beethoven Year 2020 than through Barenboim. We’ll be showcasing Beethoven’s Sonatas No. 16 through to No. 23 at the hands of Barenboim throughout September so that we may marvel at Beethoven’s genius and Barenboim’s skills.
