Epic top of the table clash

The last transfer window saw a number of Monaco’s title-winning stars leave the club. The most notable of these departures was teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe.

The 18-year-old left the Ligue 1 champions to join title favourites Paris Saint-Germain. He is now one third of one of the world’s deadliest combination of attackers alongside Neymar and Edinson Cavani.

This weekend the youngster will face his former club for the first time in the league. PSG travels to Monaco for a top of the table clash on Sunday, November 27. The match is live on StarSat channel 248 (Fox Sports Africa).

PSG will go into the match as favourites as they have dominated opponents and showed ruthlessness. They are unbeaten in 13 matches, winning 11. The much-publicized investments in Neymar and Mbappe have yielded results as the team has scored 43 goals so far. Their defence has also been solid as they have only conceded nine goals.

It is difficult to see how teams can stop Les Perisiens this season. Celtic found out the hard way as PSG put seven goals past them earlier this week in the UEFA Champions League. Monaco’s fans will be worried about Sunday’s challenge.

Losing the likes of Mbappe, Benjamin Mendy, Bernado Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko would hurt any team but writing off Les Monégasques would be a mistake. They are second on the log with nine wins, two draws and two losses. Monaco has scored 35 goals from their 13 matches. PSG will have to watch the likes of Thomas Lemar and Radamel Falcao who have the ability to turn a match with one moment of magic.

This is a top class match and could go a long way to deciding the Ligue 1 title even at this early stage of the season.
