Fête de la Musique (6 day special)

Nothing brings different people together as music does. We set our differences aside for the love of sound and the movements of dancing.

Few cities celebrate music as the French do. Long ago, their minister of culture launched a music festival called Fête de la Musique (“Make Music Day”). Every year since then, on the 21st of June, the world celebrates music.

The festival is as all-inclusive as it can be. Amateurs are encouraged to perform in the streets and parks of their community. Concerts are free of charge, featuring only musicians willing to donate their time. All music genres are welcome. Cities all over the world participate in the festival, including Jo’burg, since 2010.

To celebrate this great initiative, Stingray Classica is showing the 2019 concerts held in France. Six concerts in six days, featuring world-renowned classical music maestros performing in beautiful locations.

Monday, 21 June, to Saturday, 26 June on Stingray Classica (ch 332)
