Justice League: Throne of Atlantis
Long ago, a proud island kingdom existed. Named Atlantis, they were superior to all in their knowledge of magic and technology. All that cleverness, however, could not stop their island from sinking into the sea. They did not wish to leave their kingdom, however, for the Atlantians were a proud people.
Desperate to save his kingdom, the king of Atlantis used his magic trident to transform his people into superhumans. They were gifted gills to breathe underwater and given strength to survive great depths. The Atlantians were no longer a great people but a superior species. Not only would they survive this cruel twist of fate, but revel in it.
And revel they did. Independent of the surface world, the Atlanteans built themselves a paradise. Humanity thought them dead. And, unable to reach them, Atlantis became a mere myth in the minds of men. The Atlantean people are content to live out their lives without ever having to meet another human again, as they have done for centuries.
Prince Orm of Atlantis does not share his people’s contentedness with peace. The death of his father, King Orvax Marius, was a direct consequence of a war between humans and aliens. That isn’t the only time when Atlantean life falls victim to the collateral damage of surface dwellers. Their factories poison the very waters Atlanteans breathe. Human plastics drift even in the holiest of Atlantean places. It’s only a matter of time before humans discover Atlantis and pillage her for her secrets.
They will not be allowed to continue their course. By hook or by crook, Prince Orm will subjugate the human race for the sake of Atlantis before they get out of hand. Not even their protectors, so-called superheroes, will stand in his way.
Atlanna, Queen of Atlantis, knows the intentions of her secondborn son but believes there is a better way. Atlantis can no longer ignore humanity, but cooperation is a better path than conquest. It’s up to the Justice League to find the Queen’s firstborn son, Arthur Curry, and help him become king. Only the half-human, half-Atlantean can serve as the bridge between their worlds.
