Press Release – StarTimes ON offers secure online payments and greater access to live channels

With so many families stuck at home due to the lockdown, StarSat’s customers have welcomed the additional children’s programming available on ST Kids, Da Vinci, Mindset and Baby TV. StarSat isn’t going to stop there, however, for they now bring you greater access to news, documentaries and TV series on their OTT platform StarTimes ON. In addition to more content, the StarTimes ON app now supports secure online payments.

By linking your StarSat decoder and smartcard to the StarTimes ON app not only will you gain access to more Livestream channels but you will also get complete control of your account. Recharge your account using your Visa or Mastercard or change your bouquet to suit your needs. All this and more without having to leave the safety of your home.

Data is expensive, so the StarTimes ON programmers made sure that their app uses as little data as possible. You can stream the same HD quality as other OTT platforms but use 30% fewer data thanks to how efficient the app is. In case you’re very low on data, the app also allows you to switch to standard definition allowing you to consume even less. A lot of the content on the app can be download to your device so even when you’re out of data or when the signal’s bad you can stay entertained.

“As a digital TV operator in South Africa, StarSat feels a duty to contribute to the safety of the public during these difficult times. People’s homes are the safest place they can be right now so we’ve made it possible to keep enjoying great entertainment and have access to accurate news and information without the need to go outside,” says StarSat CEO John Yan.
