Dangerous sea-race around Sicily

This is the yacht race of yacht races. Teams will be racing each other over 600 miles anti-clockwise around Sicily, starting and ending in the picturesque and historical Valletta on the island of Malta. Besides the challenge of the sheer length of the race the fact that it takes place at the near-end of the Mediterranean sailing season meaning the weather will be wildly turbulent and unpredictable. This is a harsh test of seamanship that will push the sailors to the edge and others to capsize.
