To celebrate the arrival of spring and the Heritage month, South Africa’s most affordable PayTV operator StarSat is proud to announce that with non-increased subscriptions, from 1st September, 2017, we will launch, rebrand and replace several new channels to bring more exciting programs to our subscribers:

New Channels to be launched: Soweto TV, Trace Africa, ST Naija, ST Novela E Plus and ST KungFu Plus:

  • Soweto TV – channel 488 – available on the R99 Special package.

Soweto TV is a dynamic local community TV channel that services the community of Soweto and extended areas around Joburg, boasting a viewership of more than 3 million.  Celebrating 10 years of broadcasting, the channel’s content is driven and guided by four pillars, ie. Brand Soweto – at the forefront of all sub cultures – all things Township, everything Soweto; History of Soweto – rich culture and heritage; good News – uplifting and inspirational stories; Entrepreneurial Opportunities – educating & showcasing SMME’s and the heroes behind them, telling real stories for real people.

  • ST Naija – channel 324 – available on the R99 Special package.

ST Naija is dedicated to Nigerian and Ghanaian music in all its forms: Afro-pop, Afro beat, Afro-hip, Hip-hop, R & B, Ragga, Dancehall and many more.  From trendy hits to golden classics and some international hits.

  • Trace Africa – channel 334 – available on the R199 Super package.

Trace Africa is the #1 channel for African music offering a unique combination of the best African artists from all over Africa, with the most complete library of African music.  The music video mix will be 70% from Southern Africa and 30% from other African countries.

  • ST Novela E Plus – channel 128 – available on the R199 Super package.

ST Novela E Plus is a female skewed channel and airs English dubbed telenovelas from Mexico, The Philippines and Turkey.

  • ST KungFu Plus – channel 156 – available on the R199 Super package.

ST KungFu Plus showcases Chinese Kung Fu as well as China’s landscapes, culture, arts and customs.  It presents a developing, confident and beautiful China to our viewers. All programmes have been translated and dubbed into English.

Rebranded channels:

  • ST Movies 1 (Channel 100) has rebranded to ST Movies Plus
  • ST Novela E1 (Channel 127) has rebranded to ST Novela E
  • Star Life OK (Channel 562) has rebranded to Star Bharat

 RTP – channel 370
