03 Jul The Hot Zone (ep 1 & 2) Simulcast
If you want to make a thriller scary you just need to add the words “non-fiction” to it. In 1989, for the first time ever, Ebola was detected on US soil. Ebola is a big deal: untreated, the mortality rate is between 83% and 90%. Even when it’s treated, thanks to it having no known cure, the mortality rate only drops to 50%, because all they can do is pump you full of fluids and hope your body fights off the infection on its own. If that wasn’t bad enough, it’s spread through all bodily fluids. If you simply touch someone with Ebola you’ll get infected too.
Starring the multi-award winning Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife) as Dr Nancy Jaax this limited series will leave you captivated in the incredible true story of how a U.S. Army scientist put her life on the line in order to prevent the Ebola virus from spreading to the human population.
