20 Jul The X Factor UK (Season 13)
The X-Factor is a reality TV competition to find singing talent.
The show starts with public auditions where thousands of hopefuls gather and hundreds perform in front of the panel of judges. Prepare yourself for some cringe and a few pleasant surprises. You’re never quite sure what you’re going to get.
Whoever makes the cut goes through to “bootcamp” where they start performing every week in knock-out performances where the judges get to choose whose dreams to shatter.
When the competition has been whittled down to a chosen few they are placed into groups and they get to go to the judges’ houses where they are guided and moulded by their respective couches. The judges then judge and some more get to go home.
The few that are left perform in live TV shows where the audience gets to vote on who stays and who goes until finally a winner immures and winds a boat-load of cash and a recording contract. The rest don’t exactly leave with nothing. Just about every winner goes on to reach a high degree of success, and even a few drop-outs manage to scrounge together a semblance of a career. One Direction was one of these lucky ones.
All in all, this is a very entertaining show full of beautiful people and even more beautiful voices. If you like music, reality drama and watching one person’s/band’s hopes and dreams come true then this is the show for you.
